Comprehending laws and contracts is impossible, unless we first learn the meaning of the words and phrases they contain.

SOCIALISM.
A scheme of government aiming at absolute equality in the distribution of the physical means of life and enjoyment. It is on the continent employed in a larger sense; not necessarily implying communism, or the entire abolition of private property, but applied to any system which requires that the land and the instruments of production should be the property, not of individuals, but of communities or associations or of the government. 1 Mill, Pol. Econ. 248.

SOCIALISM.
Any theory or system of social organization which would abolish, entirely or in great part, the individual effort and competition on which modern society rests, and substitute for it co-operative action, would introduce a more perfect and equal distribution of the products of labor, and would make land and capital, as the instruments and means of production, the joint possession of the members of the community.

WEX Legal Dictionary
Socialist law

Until recently, the USSR and its satellites proclaimed that their socialism was producing an entirely new form of law, not to be judged by or even compared with the older systems. This view was said to be the scientific conclusion of a Marxist analysis. Even in those days, however, the systems' documents looked, on the surface, familiar: constitutions and civil codes many of whose rules bore - at least on paper - a strong resemblance to the traditional provisions.
The USSR's peaceful disintegration into 15 sovereign states has provoked much activity in fashioning new structures. Most of the states by now have a new democratic constitution and are drafting the rest of the legal system. Among the last acts of the old USSR was the enactment of a comprehensive framework of Basic Principles for private law. It was used in Russia as an interim instrument until the Civil Code of November 1994. In time the statute book will probably look much like those of the civil-law German-speaking countries. More problematic is the personnel to run the system, in the shape of lawyers and, above all, of judges who are well-trained, wise, and honest.

From its inception in 1949, the People's Republic of China's declared aim was to attain socialism. It abrogated all earlier legislation and during the next decade much of the formal law appeared inspired by Soviet models. But the 'Great Leap Forward' of 1958 emphasised ideological leadership, law was denigrated and degraded during the Cultural Revolution (1966-76), and it was not until the 1980s that something resembling a recognisable legal system began to appear. Under the 1982 Constitution (see also here), China - despite its size - is not a federation. The People's Congress is the named legislator and the 'executive' is the State Council, although much power remains with the Chinese Communist Party. The pre-Cultural Revolution legal structure has been partly resurrected, and a legal framework of codes enacted. The Basic Principles of Civil Law contain many provisions that would be familiar to Western jurists. The actual functioning of the system, however, is affected by the persistent attitude that makes law subordinate to the decisions of central and local political authorities.
QUOTES

Alexis de Tocqueville:
Democracy extends the sphere of individual freedom, socialism restricts it. Democracy attaches all possible value to each man; socialism makes each man a mere agent, a mere number. Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.
Friedrich Nietzsche:
Socialism is the phantastic younger brother of despotism, which it wants to inherit. Socialism wants to have the fullness of state force which before only existed in despotism. ... However, it goes further than anything in the past because it aims at the formal destruction of the individual ... who ... can be used to improve communities by an expedient organ of government.

Mikhail Gorbachev:
Those who hope that we shall move away from the socialist path will be greatly disappointed. Every part of our program of perestroika … is fully based on the principle of more socialism and more democracy. ... I would like to be clearly understood ... we, the Soviet people, are for socialism. ... We want more socialism and, therefore, more democracy. ... More socialism means more democracy, openness and collectivism in everyday life. … We will proceed toward better socialism rather than away from it. We are saying this honestly, without trying to fool our own people or the world. Any hopes that we will begin to build a different, non-socialist society and go over to the other camp are unrealistic and futile. Those in the West who expect us to give up socialism will be disappointed. ... It’s my conviction that the human race has entered a stage where we are all dependent on each other. No other country or nation should be regarded in total separation from another, let alone pitted against another. That’s what our communist vocabulary calls internationalism and it means promoting universal human values.
Joseph Paul Goebbels:
To be a socialist is to submit the I to the thou; socialism is sacrificing the individual to the whole.
George Bernard Shaw:
I also made it quite clear that Socialism means equality of income or nothing, and that under socialism you would not be allowed to be poor. You would be forcibly feed, clothed, lodged, taught, and employed whether you like it or not. If it were discovered that you had not character enough to be worth all this trouble, you might possibly be executed in a kindly manner; but whilst you were permitted to live you would have to live well.
Sir Winston Churchill:
Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy.
Alexander Solzhenitsyn:
Socialism of any type leads to a total destruction of the human spirit.

Edgar Wallace Robinson:
In 1883, a small group of Socialists met in London, announcing their intentions of converting the British economic system from capitalism to socialism. This group chose the name 'Fabian Society.' One of the leading members of the Fabian Society, author George Bernard Shaw, perhaps summed it up best when he said, quote: '... Socialism means equality of income or nothing... under socialism you would not be allowed to be poor. You would be forcibly fed, clothed, lodged, taught, and employed whether you like it or not. If it were discovered that you had not character enough to be worth all this trouble, you might possibly be executed in a kindly manner; but whilst you were permitted to live you would have to live well.'
Antonio Gramsci:
Socialism is precisely the religion that must overwhelm Christianity. … In the new order, Socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches and the media by transforming the consciousness of society.
Ludwig von Mises:
Socialism is not in the least what it pretends to be. It is not the pioneer of a better and finer world, but the spoiler of what thousands of years of civilization have created. It does not build, it destroys. For destruction is the essence of it. It produces nothing, it only consumes what the social order based on private ownership in the means of production has created.
The champions of socialism call themselves progressives, but they recommend a system which is characterized by rigid observance of routine and by a resistance to every kind of improvement. They call themselves liberals, but they are intent upon abolishing liberty. They call themselves democrats, but they yearn for dictatorship. They call themselves revolutionaries, but they want to make the government omnipotent. They promise the blessings of the Garden of Eden, but they plan to transform the world into a gigantic post office. Every man but one a subordinate clerk in a bureau. What an alluring utopia! What a noble cause to fight!
Adolf Hitler:
National Socialism is what Marxism might have been if it could have broken its absurd and artificial ties with the democratic order.
Leon Trotsky:
If our generation happens to be too weak to establish Socialism over the earth, we will hand the spotless banner down to our children. The struggle which is in the offing transcends by far the importance of individuals, factions and parties. It is the struggle for the future of all mankind. It will be severe, it will be lengthy. Whoever seeks physical comfort and spiritual calm let him step aside. In time of reaction it is more convenient to lean on the bureaucracy than on the truth. But all those for whom the word ‘Socialism’ is not a hollow sound but the content of their moral life - forward! Neither threats nor persecutions nor violations can stop us! Be it even over out bleaching bones the future will triumph! We will blaze the trail for it. It will conquer! Under all the severe blows of fate, I shall be happy as in the best days of my youth; because, my friends, the highest human happiness is not the exploitation of the present but the preparation of the future.
Norman Thomas:
The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.

The 10 Planks Of American Socialism
http://www.firebreathingchristian.com/archives/15054

One of the most surreal aspects of modern American culture is the manner in which the vast majority of self-identified conservative Christians have simultaneously embraced three bizarrely (and embarrassingly) contradictory approaches to life:

1.We've become stark raving Socialists in practice. From public schools, Social Security, and Medicare to the State-licensing/controlling of finance, industry, medicine, media, and education, the typical modern American "conservative Christian" has become a happy, proud, and often quite vocal enabler of deep, thick Socialism in every area of life.

2.We've become stark raving Statists as a result of our stark raving Socialism. In our happy (and often oblivious) submission to the state as god-in-practice - looking to the State as the primary authority on earth and therefore the "real world" provider of peace, prosperity, liberty, and security - we have become worshippers of the State. We have made America itself our most cherished idol.

After generations of discipleship through State-run education systems and ever-increasing dependence upon State-managed programs, we have little if any appetite for the thought of actually eliminating the State-managed programs and systems upon which we and our families have allowed ourselves to become dependent.

Rather than repent of our Socialism and America idolatry so that we might find true life, liberty, freedom, and prosperity for our families, communities, culture and civilization, we embrace and defend the very programs and systems that are literally designed to lead us, our children, and each successive generation of Americans deeper down the path of State-worship and State-dependence.

3.In spite of our stark raving Socialism and Statism, we frequently talk and sing about how free and awesome we are. Despite all of the obvious cultural wreckage piling up around us and in spite of the many increasingly ominous trends and trajectories defining our culture, we're still all about American pride and exceptionalism as the answer to what ails us, and we are still very much inclined to boast about how awesome we are and how much the world needs us to show it the way.

After lifetimes spent being discipled through State/Corporate-run pop-culture and education systems, we've become so comically delusional that we eagerly, happily, and oh-so-proudly sing about how free and great we are.

Right on cue and at the drop of a hat.

Like trained chimps.

[insert "U! S! A!" chant here]

So here we are.

It's ugly and sad, but like the Twelve Steppers say, the first step to fixing a problem is admitting that we have a problem.

And man, do we have a problem.

To give us a little more insight and clarity into the seriousness and pervasiveness of this problem, I'd like to respectfully submit for your consideration what I'm calling here the Ten Planks of American Socialism.

These are taken (and sometimes tweaked) directly from the infamous Ten Planks of Communism as defined in The Communist Manifesto, a book and message that most American professing conservative Christians claim to oppose, and vigorously so.

Yet, as we will see here, these claims of revulsion and opposition are, far more often than not, a ridiculous (and very dangerous) fiction.

The typical American "conservative Christian" is in fundamental agreement with most, if not all, of the Ten Planks of Communism...while pretending to be good Christian, freedom- and liberty-loving patriot (which is just what how American State needs them to view all of these things, of course).

So without further delay, and with an eye toward actually fixing the problems that are killing us, let's consider...

The Ten Planks Of American Socialism

1.The abolition of private property. In America, the State owns every home and building in the land. Don't think so? Try not paying the rent - I mean "property tax" - that the State demands on the home that you think you own outright and see what happens. It shouldn't take long to discover who really owns "your" home.

Through property tax, Americans have become made renters/serfs of the American State.

But wait!

There's more!

The funds confiscated through these property rental fees (taxes) paid to the State are then used to fund the massive Socialist programs that define and dominate every area of life in America.

How cool is that?!

[insert "U! S! A!" chant here]

(For more on this, please read How “free public schools” make us all renters from the State and Why home ownership will never be allowed in “the land of the free” and the home of the NSA.)

2.A heavy progressive or graduated income tax. This is straight from The Communist Manifesto...and a well-established part of life (for now, anyway) in "the land of the free" and the home of the NSA.

It is no coincidence that the introduction of the income tax in America came hand in glove with the establishment of the Federal Reserve. These two pillars of rank economic bondage and Corporate/Statist/Socialistic power must come down before anything resembling true free markets and true liberty will ever shine again in America.

(For more on this, please read Fiat $lavery: We have been bought and paid for…with nothing.)

3.There must be an inheritance tax to help "make things fair". This plank is one of the few that most professing conservative Christians in America still manage to oppose, though with each successive generation of State-educated children who grow into adulthood, even this plank of American Socialism is becoming more and more attractive to "conservative Christians" in the land.

4.The property of "certain people" can (and should) be confiscated by the State without due process. Welcome to the fruit of the "war on drugs" and other radical corruptions of law that have literally allowed the State to "legally" become a thief on a scale that takes the concept of organized crime to a massive new level.

5.The power to create magical money (and thereby credit) out of thin air should be centralized in the hands of an elite few chosen and empowered by the State. The black magic of fiat economics is the abominable engine that fuels and funds the entire Orwellian American system. Without the power of fiat currency, none of the programs and systems presently dragging the American people into darkness could exist.

Wanna end the Welfare/Warfare State?

End fiat currency. End fiat slavery. End the Federal Reserve.

6.Communication and transportation should be managed, supervised, licensed, and/or controlled by the State. 'Cause that's what freedom looks like, don'tcha know. Just ask the NSA. (And be sure to wave at the NSA while reading this, since here in "the land of the free" we all know that Big Brother is tracking everything that we do online...for our own good, of course.)

(For more on this, please read Is privacy too much to expect in “the land of the free” and the home of the NSA?)

7.The State should supervise and ultimately control all agricultural and industrial use of its land (which is all land, as addressed earlier in Plank 1).

8.Every American must be encouraged (and, where needed, pressured) to work within the Corporate/State system. Working outside of the Corporate/State paradigm is to be impugned and obstructed at every turn through State regulation and State licensing requirements.

Mothers must be pressured to join in the Corporate/State workforce. Children must be placed under the care and discipleship of the State in its public schools. Everyone must be groomed and guided toward cradle-to-grave service and submission to the American Corporate State.

9.The State should allocate resources and people in American communities through the use of public schools and various regulatory systems/requirements.

10.The State should provide free education for all children in government schools. This arguably most central and culture-shaping of all ten planks is taken word directly from The Communist Manifesto.

[insert "U! S! A!" chant here]

If a system can’t define “boy” and “girl”, we shouldn’t send boys or girls to that system for an “education".

So there we have it: The Ten Planks of American Socialism.

I hope and pray that this presentation has been convicting where necessary and, at the end of the day, inspiring in recognition that God giving us clarity on these hard truths is an essential early step toward our repentance and restoration as a people, culture, and civilization.
